Changing some light fittings in an old property & found 116V L-N at the light with the switch turned off.

Going back tomorrow to investigate. Any ideas before the carpets come up. Pray

Could be, Ill check it a bit more thouroughly tomorrow. Theres another light in the same room & L-N is 0V with switch off. Its not on the same switch.

 
what do you get to earth?
Probably no cpc, had this the other day low energy lamp trying to start. There was 120 volts between l-n. Somebody had moved switch but had used two core flex, replaced this with tw/e problem dissapeared.
