17th ed changes to smoke alarm wiring???

With reference to the 16th ed, you were allowed to connect a smoke alarm circuit into a normally used lighting circuit, but now states that the circuit should now be on a designated breaker itself, is this covering all installations or just in new builds? i.e if fitting a smokie to an existing property which doesnt have any spare ways, you would have to add to the DB or possibly change if required to accomodate a new circuit?

You can still use a regularly used lighting circuit; and note it down on the fire cert.

So pretty much same as before, Existing-Can be doubled up with lt circuit

New build-Only dedicated circuit installed
