A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Still I reckon I have seen worse in this museum!

The terminations look superb !!! Clearly someone who takes pride in their work . I mentioned this in another post but why on earth can someone that is not competent , buy a consumers unit and fit it with obvious results . makes a mockery of the part P doc of the building regs . headbang

Had a call out the other day from DIYer who had given up trying to install downlights in his bathroom. Apart from being a mess of overstripped back sheaths, connector block and masking tape, he told me he had been trying to strip the cable back using a knife and a cigarette lighter!!!!!

TBH I have a lot more respect for a DIYer who has had a go (because of a rip of quote perhaps) and made a mess of it and then got proffessional help than I have for cowboys who rip people off and leave an unsafe mess.

I was called in to test & issue a cert (would only do a pir for him), why had he done it himself?.....well British Gas wanted

Those terminations don't look a lot worse than the Volex factory ones.
had a pic of the volex up the other week, there is a fair bit of copper showing.

just a thought though, incoming tails no copper showing as are always live unless an isolator outside cu,

neutal and earth bars unisulated so does a bit of copper really matter?

L and N in and out of the rcd and out of the main switch, should you really be pokeing fingers around the cu with the main switch on?

That's true , I never looked at it that way and I watched enough rogue traders on the tv :coffee
