any good ideas guys? I spent 2 hours last night, handing out some fliers round local streets probably to get put straight in the bin. The local paper want 35quid a week for a 3 line advert which is about 12 words including the phone no. which I think is an absolute rip off. I've advertised on yell.com thompsons and google. on their free sections. Did that 3weeks ago and got one job out of it. Obviously I know the paying ones are better.

Word of mouths getting better but still need more work to be able to set up alone. Whats your experiences with it all? Thanks

Get yourself a website up and running, with good content and key words.

With the right time and content, google will soon rank your page.

for instance, my self i do Air source heat pumps, and based in sheffield.

So a search for "air source sheffield" brings me on the first page. had a fair amount of enquiries about it also.

i agree, ive spent quite alot of time on my site and it now ranks pretty high on google.

also worth getting a google account enter your self in the maps section. its a good way to get on the first page until you seo your site.

yes the business directory on google is really good and gets you up there quite quick.

Just had a quick look on your site, Very smart.

Also for web sites the more places your website is seen by google bots, the higher the ranking, as you will be rated into other sites aswell.

yup, get your site all over the web! but dont go paying people to swap links etc!
