Hello Tarzan, congrats onyour pass. do you want to run pat testing as a business or what is your aim.

Most decision will depend on you, what you want, who your clients are, how far you have to travel, what time of day, wht the site situation is, are the items easily accessable. All these and many more will determine what you will charge. but it range from

Does any one know what accreditation is required minimally for Pat Testing.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

You have to prove your "competent" to carry out pat testing.

If you employ five or more people you need a health and safety policy, not pat testing as there is no direct requirement that states "you must have pat testing" . Instead the requirement is from the electricity at work regulations, health and safety at work act, provisions and use of work equipment, the management of health and safety.

It is a legal requirement for emplyer having 5 or more staff to have their electricll aplliances tested yearly.
wrong. there is no legal requirement to PA test anything. only requirement is that electrical equipment is maintained in good working order - PA testing is one way of achieving this.

and the 5 employee bit is rubbish. HASAWA requires a H&S policy if more than 5 employees, but that has nothing to do with electrical testing. even if there was just one person at the company, they would still be required to maintain all electrical equipment
