Hi All,

I’m new here and im seeking advice from anybody who’s had previous experience with a company called UK NMG limited. They have offered a contract for electrical testing BUT to gain the contract, there’s an upfront one of payment. All the dealings I’ve had have been very good but something’s telling me scam. Has anybody on here had any dealings with this company. There office is in Glasgow Scotland and the contract is in the midlands. 475 property’s over a year period. Please only comment if you’ve had previous or know of prevoius expericance. I don’t wanna here thoughts I want facts.

Regards

avoid

any sort of quick google will show it to be what it is

I havent googled btw, but I have seen numerous posts on various forums about them,

have a look at companies house if you are that concerned

just as an aside,

why would you pay anyone to give you work if they will be making money off your back.?

Hey,

paying for leads is now is now unfortunately normal, sites like my builder, rated people etc etc are making millions from trades paying for leads.

They are a limited company and registered on company’s house. I’ve done all that homework before I came here. I’m now looking for anybody that’s had first hand experienace

regards

I’ve avoided these forems because you don’t seem to get facts. Please I only want to know anybody that has facts

Nope ..............but then they've only been about for a year under their present name, so you might be better asking if anybody has worked for the other companies registered under the 2x directors names?

Dont put their personal names up. Company names would be ok, put up another post you never know somebody might know something.

As already said be careful stumping up money for leads; but you may be ok.

Facts as I see it:-

If this is the same company you are on about...https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10436096/filing-history

The main bod was born in 1995 which makes him quite young IMHO...

The company was incorporated in Oct 2016, under a different name, already had a name change..

And So far no account filings are available...

I have never had any dealings with them,  but there again I never would as I don't go down the line of Buying leads...

You did say you had done all this homework before coming on the forum...

so I guess you consider this lack of track record as a good gamble for your hard earned time & money?

As they have barely been operational for 18months you may be pushing it to find many people with actual personal involvement with them..

There seems to be one heck of a lot of dormant companies associated with the other Director (resigned) named on the list.

Sounds like someone who does the setting up of company names for a third party then sell a registered business to a bod doing a new start-up?

Either way it is certainly not a long established business with more than 5 years under its belt..

(and most start-ups fail within the first 5 years).

thats a personal opinion and is definitely not a fact

I find most 'trades' that use those type of sites are not trades or professionals at all but simply short course people that are desperate for work

Matson I think your mind is already made up ..however I've been in this trade since  this was released ...........

220px-Elvis_is_Back!.jpg..........and I'm saying  why are you paying  a bunch of  leeches  out of your hard earned money .?

Thanks all for your comments....

Special locations.......I was thinking the same but thought I'd give the benefit them a chance and hopefully somebody would have something good to say. On every1's opinion think I'll give it a miss.

There's so many sites trying to gain money from hijacking work requests on Google. I have used a site for solar PV work in the past, it worked pretty well, but that was strictly on a pay per lead basis and I did not have to take a lead (plus if lead was lettuced I could get my money back). I certainly would not contemplate paying up-front to be listed - that's the territory of scams. If you want greater profile on the internet I would suggest possibly getting registered with someone like 'Which? Trusted Trader'. The Which? brand is clearly very strong and trusted and does generate leads from memebers. They also offer good consumer contract advice (they insist you issue contracts, which can be very useful if an argument ensues with the customer).

forgot to mention, there's also lots of people targetting new start businesses, ie offer lots of work at very low prices and hope you are desperate enough to take it on. You wrk hard, earn little and they atke the big bucks for fleecing you!

Just for the record, to show that the forum is not biased and has no personal grievance against the company mentioned in the above links. As it would appear to be a relatively new venture, it is reasonable to expect they are reputable and honest in their business structure and are operating a perfectly legal and legitimate business model. Whilst from other contributions to the forum in the past, some similar types of business may have had dubious motives and payment structures and/or reliability issues, this cannot be suggested or implied about the company mentioned in any of the above posts.

However none of the above prevents any of our forum members having any personal gut feelings or thoughts about how certain types of business tend to operate in their opinion. A lot of business decisions in new ventures can involve a bit of gut feeling accompanied by factual evidence. At this point in time there would appear to be no factual experience of working with the company mentioned, just personal feelings about the type of business.

Was there any resolution on this as I've got a similar situation with the same company
