The company in the OP were being discussed, in a not too complimentary way, on another forum - that forum got a legal communication asking them to remove the threads.

Anyone promising work on multiple rental properties, via unsolicited emails, which you have to pay for, has to be some form of suspicious business model......

just saying.

Yes I was daft enough to pay. I'm a new company and was extremely naive and now don't know what to do

depends what contract / paperwork they give you. read the small print. there's a possibility of small claims court to claim your money back, but its going to be awkward

as usual, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is

Be wary of anyone wanting money up-front. Be aware that the Police / Fire brigade / Ambulance service do not sell any form of advertising (a popular scam) and be wary of any email wanting your expert services for multiple properties that has no contact details other than the the email it was sent from, and a link to files...

LB88    let me put it this way ........we are all electricians on here , including yourself I presume ,    people pay us to do stuff .....not the other way round .

As an electrician you could work for a company , a factory , a contractor  or be self employed .........all the others are hangers on , leeching money by cashing in on your skills,  knowledge and hard work .

Sorry if you've been ripped off .

I'm usually contacted about  four times a month from some sort of agency offering thousands of EICRs  to carry out  or all the work they have on their books for North B,ham .     One of the cheeky bar stewards  stipulated  I should be ... NICEIC  ,  insured , qualified to some sort of level ,  have my own transport  WITH ....( Wait for it !!!!)   a clean driver's licence.

I did email that one back with a suitable Kerching style reply .

Hi All,

I’m new here and im seeking advice from anybody who’s had previous experience with a company called UK NMG limited. They have offered a contract for electrical testing BUT to gain the contract, there’s an upfront one of payment. All the dealings I’ve had have been very good but something’s telling me scam. Has anybody on here had any dealings with this company. There office is in Glasgow Scotland and the contract is in the midlands. 475 property’s over a year period. Please only comment if you’ve had previous or know of prevoius expericance. I don’t wanna here thoughts I want facts.

Regards
Hi keep well clear they have ripped me off for £2,200.00 they promised me 475 properties in the B postcode area to be completed within 12 months and they gave me nothing I’ve written letters and they have been return from the Glasgow address. I’ve sent numerous emails and got no joy I ended up closing my business as I let other guaranteed jobs go on the understanding I was getting work from Uk nmg but I got fiddled out of hard earnt cash. The worded part of it all I had only just started trading and that loss of money took its toll on my business.

STAY WELL CLEAR THEY ARE RIP OFFS

I'm sorry you were drawn into that mate .   I always think if  this outfit has all this work why are they not  doing it themselves ?

Or like.....( only Old Pharts will know this one ) ...the  likes of Horace Batchelor  on Radio Luxembourg  , selling his magic formula to win the football pools .

WHy doesn't he keep it to himself :C

To anyone about to fall into the same trap as Andy remember ...nothing is for nothing .... and if it sounds too good to be true , it usually is .....and finally , you work to become a qualified spark , you have all your tools , testers , knowledge, skills, work ethic,  you've paid your dues to the likes of NIC  and the rest  .............why  would you work for an agency who sit on their arses  in a warm office  creaming their profit from your hard work ?

Have you not heard of Companies house?

Although a Director has his address in Glasgow...

that is NOT the company  registered address...

But saying that...   they don't look to be in very good economic health anyway...

Overdue accounts etc..

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10436096

It was only incorporated in Oct 2016,

and a Director was only born in 1995....

make him grand old age of .. 23!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope...  you would have to be gullible beyond belief  to A/ trust them   B/ Not do a bit of research first before considering any business investment ..

As others have said, anyone asking you for money up front to find you work is best avoided at all costs! I remember a few years ago, somone rang me, would I be interested in a contract to wire 1000 new homes, why me? I'm a one man band and there are quite a few reputable decent sized firms not far from me, so why do they want me to do the work?

A couple of phone calls and I soon had the answer, all the big firms had refused them! Just for a laugh I pretended I was interested just to see what the scam was, after all, they didn't want any money off me for offering me this fantastic opportunity.

It went like this, they had a spec for the job, they told you how much you'd be paid per house, ok fair enough, then the small print, they planned to build say 100 homes, when they'd been sold they'd build the next 100, only after all 1000 homes had been built and sold would you be paid for the work! The building started 3 years ago and is still unfinished, in the end they sold off two thirds of the land so now we have 3 different developers building homes on the same site, and they won't be finished until early next year.I often wonder if anyone was silly enough to take it on, and if they ever got paid.

I despise people who try and make money for nothing, life is hard enough, I don't mind dropping somebody a decent drink if they find me some work, I knew a bloke worked for an alarm company, they didn't do small domestic stuff, just big stuff, anyway, he'd tell anyone they wouldn't do a job for to phone me, he'd also ring and tell ,me to expect a call from "so and so, from such an address".each time a job came in and I did it, I'd drop him 20 quid, he was happy and I was happy, his firm weren't bothered so it was win all round.

There's nothing wrong with showing your appreciation to someone who helps you earn a few bob, but pay these leaches? NEVER!

Try trading standards an the Small claims court

it may not get you nowhere but it's worth a punt

also try a separate claim against the director personally.

youve already lost £2k so,another £100 or so is not that much. I know it has caused you to fold BUT it may just get you something back.

these scum need to be put slowly through a bacon slicer over a period of months
