We don't ...we have Winterval so we don't upset anyone . And I noticed that last year , the council Christmas street lights things were all very PC and neutral with no stables, mangers , wise (or not so wise) men ,donkeys, camels , shepherds washing socks by night, no three kings from orient are, angels, Mary & Whatshis name ,and definately no baby Jesus .

Basically sort of... stars ...wooshing . :C

Oh well Happy Hanukkah

FFS,

my young lad has an EID festival at school tomorrow,

Im not against anyone, but they NEVER celebrate any of MY festivals,

and Im fairly sure they dont celebrate Christmas in Islamic countries either.

What are "your festivals" Steps ? I somehow don't see you celebrating by left footing off to High Mass and confessing your sins . Are we praying for the return of King Billy in his Dutch national foolball colours.

Or is it to the woods on Walpurgis night to practice the dark arts. ( Blimey straight out of Harry Potter that is)

Yes the EID fireworks are going off as I type

I dont have any sins to confess. ;)

Funnily enough, I have a good joke about that, but another time maybe....

I'm sure she'll be fine, after all mums, I find will generally accept any gift providing the rest of the family is happy!!

Perhaps this is one reason why Christmas celebrations are diminishing ?. The UK is slowly but steadily becoming an Islamic country.

As for celebrating Christmas. It is grossy over commercialised. It is quite simply about commemorating the birth of Christ, not about spending so much money on presents you cannot afford to eat or put the heating on in January !

My missus is the only one dressed up in a witches outfit tonight, neither of the kids wanted to. So there she is, pointy hat and all doing dinner and I said to her "Maybe next year you can dress up in a witches outfit!"

Gonna wait until she's sweeping up and ask if she's having trouble starting it!

I never get this one. Do you celebrate that someone failed to blow up the parlament? Or that someone tried...? :)
I think it began celebrating the fact that they were caught . Guido Fawlkes , I believe, was found guilty and was hung, drawn & quartered . This is being tied up, his belly cut open, innards drawnout onto the floor still attached , still alive, they are then set on fire while he watches . He was then cut into four I believe.

Bloody teach him not to pay his council tax !!!

I believe they stuck his hied on tower bridge as well...

No wishy, washy half the sentence for good behaviour, they knew how to dole it out back in the day!

Maybe they left his knob on for being a good prisoner!

You beat me to that exact comment Andy!

With one exception, the word EVER,

He was the only person to EVER enter Parliament with honest intentions!
