Hi, got a question for you guys.

Need to install a 2KW fan heater in a bathroom. Have not seen the bathroom yet but sounds fairly small so assume it may well need to be installed in zone 2. The way I read the regs is that as long as the heater is IPx4 its ok. As for the FCU, can this be installed outside the zones?

Also, can this be connected to the main ring as long as its RCD protected?

Cheers, Richard

Hi Richard

Yes IPX4 required (Dimplex NOW do one, FX 20 wasn't)

FCU can be outside zones, yes can come of Ring with RCD.

If the room is small then you may find the 2Kw setting will be to high and it needs to be switched over to 1KW max inside, or it will be cutting out on thermal cut out.

Hi RC. Unless the installation is all 17th ed compliant in the bathroom then check Supp

Bonding requirements also.
