Hi Everyone,

Could do with a few testers for my new mini-app. Basically it's a conduit size calculator for Android devices. It has been developed as part of the electrical app I'm working on but decided to break it out as a stand alone so it can be tested and improved should anyone find any issues.

Download from the Google Play store Here

So, anyone with an Android device, feel free to download and try it out.

Please email me (through the store) or PM me on here with any issues or feature requests.

Thank You for looking.

iPhone version ?
I have a app on my iPhone called sparky (search sparkyapp in app store) which has a few useful bits including Csa of conduit and trunking.

Hi Barx

I'm collecting info on Mobile Apps for Electricians for my blog so I've featured yours here:

Mobile Apps | Electrician's Blog

Please let me know how you get on with developing new Apps and I'll add them to the list.

All the best.

Has anyone had chance to try this yet. this iis the only place I have advertised it and it has 16 downloads so I'm assuming somebody has had a go. lol

Please give feedback if you can Good or Bad, I take both equally ;)

am on it now, :D

only allows 2 bends on a 10 metre run with 6x2.5 !

actually, only allows 2 bends for anything!

oh, its allowing 3 bends now,

...................

its very particular about the length as to the amount of bends permitted.

That's down to the data contained in the book mate, Table E4. Well, OSG anyway, not sure where big book is. Will dig it out to see if it has more data.

Basically, up to 2.5m run allows for 4 bends, up to 5m allows 3, > 5m only 2 bends. Hope that clears it up ;)

ah, right, ok, well thats stating the obvious, but I didnt know it was classed as a different run. :)

saying that, we had a guy start with us on a largish hospice once, late forties, really nice bloke, been at it since he was a boy sort of thing,

except, all he had ever done was domestic,

something like a 200m run in 20mm pvc, with probably in the region of 40 or 50 bends, not a box in sight!!!!

I have no idea how long he thought a fishtape was!!!!!!!

my, how we laughed, once the complete and utter shock of it had wore off.

:shakehead

So, steps. What would your opinion be of this app. As it has had 32 downloads and your reply is the only feedback so far. Is it usable, are the results correct? (they seem to be with the examples i've tested it with). Do you like the layout, etc. Honestly, really need some feedback.

Thanks pal

TB perfectly honest Barx, Ive never ever done any sort of calculation on conduit before,

so I have no idea if its accurate or not, sorry, :|

it looks nice though, and functionality is spot on.
