Hi There,
I'm going to do a consumer unit change in my own home and add an additional circuit for my assessment by Elecsa. My current CU is an old Wylex metal clad recessed board and its mounted at 1.5 metres from FFL. The circuit cables are terminated from the top of the CU, as the bottom floor is concreted. I want to lower my new board to 1.2 mteres to the top of the CU to bring it in line with the current height regulations. But my circuit cables are not long enough to terminate into my new board. I'd say I would need to extend each circuits cable by 1 metre, to terminate properly and leave half a metre in the CU for future alterations. Can anyone advise me on how to achieve this safely. I have thought about using an adaptable box or heat shrink but would either of the two be acceptable? All replies will be appreciated.
Thanks.
