Just wondering if many of you have downloaded the Covid 19Symtom Tracker?

Its really easy to complete once a day and they need more people to contribute

The app can do individuals or you can add other people from your house hold - I do mine and the kids, the misses does her own.

Heres a link :

Why am I suspicious?

IF they REALLY want more people, why is this not regularly being mentioned on say the BBC news?  They keep talking about possibly using a tracking app, but no mention of which one.  Indeed this might not be the eventual one they want us all to use.

So why is the only place I am hearing about this one by a few people posting about it on various forums?

Don't know

The app doesn't ask you much about you when you set it up, then each day it asks if you have had a test with a Yes / No response, and then if you are feeling OK or ill

Hardly likely that they can use the information for much?

And it gives you the ability to delete your data ...

Here is a recent press release :

Happy reading

That is my concern, loading the "wrong" app.

Re privacy issues.  Google seem to be doing very well from the data they harvest by tracking our movements.. I am not willingly going to add to that until I am SURE there is a real benefit to society and me.

As I understand it the App Murdoch linked to was set up by Guys & St Thomas's, to get a better understanding of the number of the population who have had symptoms but not required any formal medical assistance / hospital admission...

i.e.   anyone who has self isolated at home then 'recovered' would never appear on any population statistics showing those who have had 'suspect' Covid-19' contact..

It is NOT the "tracking app" we hear about on the news intended to use Bluetooth etc. to automatically identify if or when anyone has been within potential contact with a know carrier.
