:^O

I bet your right as well.

He will no doubt get away with it when he should not.

Just makes me mad when shoddy work like this would reflect on the whole trade and the NICEIC in particular.

I have seen an NIC job done in feb this year. Chap had used RCD main switch board. I told customer that this was not right and she should report it to NIC. I don't think she was going to.Batty
i have seen rcd incommers befor i did not think it was a big deal if it has the isolation symble, am i wrong about this

answered my own question 17th edtion under reg, 314.1 (see also 314.2)

the question now is. when altering circuits protected by rcd incomer do u advise an upgrade and carry out the work, or not carry out the work unless they agree to upgrade ??

There is nothing wrong with leaving a RCD main switch board as is when you are doing work on a circuit..

I used a RCD main switch CU for my annual assesment (I extended the ring)... all you need to do is note it on the cert (along with red/black cables) in the "comments on the installation" bit, for the work you are doing it's not a deviation ---- TBH my assessor was surprised I even noted it

The couse of action is ..Step 1. Give him the opportunity to return and put it right inc. all relevant paperwork.and if no joy...Step 2. Download the complaints form from the NICEIC website and let them deal with it..the NICEIC wont do anything until he has been given the opportunity to rectify his work.To be honest I doubt if he actually is personally registered as the D.I

easy way to check is to go to the NIC website

nothing will happen over this.

if he has quoted to install the db at

Even the MCB's are running in a random sequence, what happened to heavy load closest to the RCD, I do hate those boards that run from left to rightX(

That live on circuit 2 (32A) is priceless. Did he bare the insuation with his teeth on that lot??
