So was I never have though.

Rev, wrong colour codes used too, should be black & red.

Also looks like 6491 type wire, probably one of your problems this wire is not designed for use on vibrating machinery.

Re-wire it with Tri rated singles to 60204-1.

i.e. a.c. power black, a.c control red.

Also you will need to ensure that the control voltage is transformer derived with primary & secondary protection on the transformer and, it will need to be below 277V a.c.

Just like when you re-wire something under BS7671 you need to upgrade then the same applies to machinery under 60204-1.

There is also a requirement under PUWER98 to comply with 60204-1.

HTH mate.

Thanks Sidey. I will certainly check your recommendations. It isnt a vibrating machine really, its just a panel with dials on the front that are pneumatically connected to sort of load cells on the rolling road part of the rig. Cant see me pulling new cables in to the motors and supply TBH just because they are the wrong colour (perhaps I might heat shrink) as its a real faff with the motors in the bottom of pits with loads of mechanical stuff on top which would need to be moved. Tranny is a 240 - 12V but coils are all 240V. It may be possible to convert all the control to 110V. I need a drawing really.

I intend to :) Dave I was taught lacing but never ever used it! Cable ties easier and quicker I guess
I was taught it during my apprenticeship and then continued to do it for the next 13 years,,,, suprisingly they don't allow cable ties in avionic equipment..... Too heavy;)

Rev,

No real need to change the incoming colours at all as this is 7671 if it is from the iso.

The outgoing to the motors, just give them a wrap with tape mate.

You could keep the coils at 240, just feed them from a 240 tranny with mcb's each side.

It is a vibrating machine it has rotating parts, thus it vibrates. ;)

Sidey, This part of the machine is separate from the motors and rolling road its a stand alone cabinet with no motors near it. Paddler, I am hoping to re do the lot just need to get the thumbs up.
