I,ve been asked to install a Dimplex Monterrey MFP100 in zone 2 of a bathroom.

The unit is rated IPx4 and suitable for bathrooms but----the instructions say 'not in the vicinity of baths, showers, water connections, wash basins or swimming pools'.

They go on to say if the heater is installed in a room

containing a bath or shower, it must be so installed that

switches and other controls cannot be touched by a

person using a bath or shower.

Surely this is a contradiction of terms.

The house wiring fully complies with 17th edition regs.

What would forum members do--install or not?

Anyone know of any other 1kW electric radiator that can definately be installed in zone 2?

B.S. 7671 2008. does state that Manufacturers instructions should take precedence over the wiring Regs .

How do they define the distance of 'vicinity'?

same town?

same house?

Same room?

1 metre?

1 inch?

Probably a poor translation from Taiwanese or something similar.

As long as IP for zone is ok then can't see it being a problem.
