Hi, I've just had an electrician round to wire my inverter to the consumer unit. I noticed when I got the invoice, nothing was added to the cu for dc protection, when I turned the inverter on the flow was going back to the grid when charging the batteries, I realised he had put the ct clamp the wrong way. He did not give me a certificate and is ignoring my messages, what options do I have?

Ps everything is now turned off

If you are in England or Wales they owe you an EIC and a Part P compliance certifcate.

If they claim to be a member of a scheme, phone the scheme

Any chance you could post a photo of your CU?

The “spark” who connected it should have known better
On his web page it says he is an accredited solar and battery installer and napit approved. I know you need dc protection, he definitely should.

I have had the spark round again today, to fit rcbo, after he had gone I looked and its a type ac, so no dc protection again, I'm fuming

Does the circuit need to have DC protection?

Best ask him in writing why he’s fitted the AC type

And can you post a photo of the updated CU
