those definitions are completely different to the ones my mates know and they are VAG master techs(not fitters, they have to take a week long course with exam every other year to retain the qualification).definitions:
facia: big plastic lump that contains the instruments, glovebox, HVAC etc
dash: the body panel your feet rest on and that the facia is mounted on (separates the cabin from the engine bay). So called from the days of horse drawn coaches. the dash is usually part of the monocoque structure these days rather than a distinct panel like, say, the boot lid or bonnet.
which, as a driver of a van, you should be fully aware ofa single carriageway NSL which for a van based van(as opposed to a car derived van) the speed limit is actually only 50mph
