Abit of background, customer has a ground source heat pump and has blown the soft start 4 times, the manufacturer/heat pump engineer has asked for the circuit to be checked and a surge protector fitting as they think it's spikes causing the problem. Circuit feeding GSHP tested fine, no SPD on main CU. Voltage seemed stable and not massively high but the house is quite remote.
So im going to install one at CU and thinking also a type 3 one near the GSHP, any recommendations for the one near GSHP or any to avoid.

I would think a single spd at the cu would be sufficient.

Remote properties can suffer all sorts if strange electrical issues, especially if in overhead power lines. Might be worth requesting the DNO installs monitoring gear for a week or two.
