right ive broke in to lighting circuit with a jb and creating a radial with 4 lights on it ive broke it to it again with a switch before the first light, switch will turn all 4 lights on there is no switch wires, so ill have a cable comeing in to my switch with a line neutral and earth and will have to connect the same going back out to compleast the circuit my question is how do i wire that in to a 1gang 2way switch,

Join the neutral, live in 'C' live out 'L1'. Do something appropriate with the earth.

alsworth26 a step by step guide is not what this forum is all about, try not to overcomplicate a simple circuit design.

If you do it WILL go BANG bad day explode

You join the neutral IN to the neutral OUT, crimp it, push fit, terminal strip, solder it - I don't care.

Take the live [imagine it was a continuous cable, all you need to cut is the live] and split it between the two terminals in the switch.

Do something similar with the earth as the nuetral, remembering you may need an earth connection in the switch..........

Alworth26, this is beyond basic. If you are asking these questions you shouldn't be doing the work. You need some one to one help from someone who knows what they are doing. It couldn't be spelt out any clearer.

The members have done more to help you than you deserve. You have to try and work with us, not against us. No-more threads like this.

Your current level of competancy would show that you could very easily put peoples lives at risk.

As a moderator on this forum I have to be impartial to all members, however I can not allow myself to sit back and let you carry on knowing that you have a problem with even the basic of circuits.

If you was announced as a student, all members of this forum would have helped you, and shown you each step in circuit design, until the penny dropped.

However it would appear that you are active in the installation of circuits, probably for reward? If you are serious about being an electrician then go and get properly trained, many students who are members of this forum know their limitations and are highly respected members of this forum, and as such receive very good help and advise.
