Hi all Im Rod. Im due to leave the armed forces in the next 12 months. Im looking into becoming an electrician and have a number of courses available to me but Im not sure whats the best route for me to take in the "real" world!! I thought that this site could really help. Any thoughts? :)

Welcome Rod. 2330 (or whatever its replacment is) is probably your best bet if you are comming form a limited electrical background.

Without going into my life story, I worked as an electricians mate from 2002 to 2005 and was called back up to go to Iraq. Now Ive done my bit Im coming out. My background is in comms Fibre, data etc but i have 17th edition. I can get on part P domestic installers and C&G2391 obviously Id like to start work asap after leaving will these quals help?

If you have 2382 already then you could theoretically be accepted into a little club without the need for other quals.

Hello Rod,

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, Mate - Those quals would certainly help. :)

Cheers for that. Ive made me mind up that this is what Im gonna do. Ill just get whatever quals I can through the army then once Im out go down the college route, the other is to expensive! Again thanks.
