HI can i have help with the wiring from a honeywell 3 terminal to a horstman three terminal i need to make sure where the live permenant live and neutrral are on both units im not even sure the previous electrican has wired the old honey well in the right terminal

please can anyone explain the right terminal the honey is the old mercury style type with a dial

many thanks

could really do with model numbers of the 2 stats,

or pictures of the connections at the very least,

most of them are the same, but there are a few odd-ball ones out there,

ps, if you look inside the cover there is sometimes a wiring diagram stuck in there.

Welcome to the forum, as Steptoe says Honeywell and Horstmann do make a lot of devices. Without some model / part numbers any advice give could just be a bit of a guess.

righty ho,

looks like you have a sparkly new battery operated no volt stat,

so no neutral required at it,

permanent live to term 1

switched live to term 2

on the honey well i image i posted please could you tell me what cables are

permanent live

switched live

is it the blue brown or grey

on the honeywell at the moment the blue is in terminal 1 the brown in two and the grey in 3 i was told that the switch live should be in terminal three in the honeywell and terminal 1 is live terminal 2 is neutral which is right as i look at the honeywell

its ok thanks i got it on my honeywell the

brown is permentant live in terminal 1

the blue is neutral in terminal 2

and grey is switch live in termainl 3

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

on the horstman its as steptoe pointed out

permnant live in terminal 1 (brown wire in my case)

switch live in terminal 2 (grey wire in my case)

and

parking in terminal 4 (blue wire in my case)

please do not follow my guide lines you wires will be completly different to mine you need to follow your own as cables are not by color they could be anything from live neutral or switch live this is just a guide many thanks to everyone in the forum

Be careful!!!!!!!!!! You told us in you in your last post that blue was neutral and then said it was the switched live. You need to make sure which wire is which before you make any connections and get a big bang if you get it wrong
