Got a peougeot partner, trip computer stays around 42mpg when driving sensible.

Got a vivaro on order and I've been told they are juicy :-(, I'll be interested if any forum members could clear that one up for me.

I know what you mean Andy. The LPG won't run on my van unless over 3500.rpm so I can only use gas on nicely moving motorways doing minimum of 70mph lol. So the gas should be alot better than figure stated above once sorted as it'll only run if it's being thrashed. I'd be stuffed with a diesel tho as I live in low emission zone.

My Connect is at around 20p per mile inc vat heavily loaded with throttle removed & replaced with on off switch ;)

YKWIM

I use p/mile as I charge in p/mile.

I checked this a few weeks ago so it is still relatively current.

When we had the van new in Nov 07 it was around 11p/mile inc vat.

We have had a vat increase since then admittedly and the van is carrying more mass now than it was.

Tyres are not always at optimum pressure either, that does make a big difference to fuel consumption.

Meady apparently the new ones have a much more economical engine than the old one, going for the 6 speed helps i think.

transporter 104, roughly 600 miles to 100 quid, with ladders and rhino tube on the roof and always fully loaded. Not bad, shame i do 500 miles a week :(

My old van (Fiat Doblo 2002) 2.0 diesel turbo - with over 1 ton loaded - would do 50/gal if I was careful; or about 42 if I wasn`t. ( and 60 if almost empty.......)

The new `un (`57 Scudo LWB) - Still 2.0 L diesel; 120ps - 35 to 39 mpg.( and its carrying a heck of a lot more) :) :) :)

I'm still running my T plate Berlingo, 105k on the clock and running at about 30mpg - so at the current extorionate diesel prices, so about 21p/mile at the moment.

I can only use gas on nicely moving motorways doing minimum of 70mph lol.
I've read loads of horror stories about van drivers getting done for speeding as they don't realise that the limit for vans (except car-derived ones) is 60mph... has anyone here had any problems of that nature??

Unfortunately though, it looks as though the Berlingo will have to go... not only am i finding it too small for all the tools etc now, but with recent additions to the family, I now find that I'm going to be doing nursery runs for three! I could manage with just one passenger seat before, but it now looks as though a crew cab might be in order!!

Citroen Berlingo, 10 miles to the litre on a big run, 470mile motorway round trip to London, loaded to the hilt, no roof rack. Round about more like 8&1/2 miles with the roof rack on and loaded up. Do 400-500 miles most weeks.

EDIT,- for your amusement, the NC35 400cc racebike is lucky to give 4&1/2 miles to the litre, and probably more like 3 to the litre at most tracks.! my 250cc 2stroke road bike done about 4miles to the litre when on the pipe!

Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0 CDTi 07 plate - had it remapped and it does approximately 35mpg. Before remap it did about 30mpg
