Howdy sparky type folks

Thought I'd say hello and thanks seeing as my first visit has given me useful information.

I have been a time served spark for many years, almost 25 now I stop and think about it, and have done all sorts from house bashing to heavy industrial installations - and even street lighting.

I no longer work at my trade after illness forced me to stop, and have retrained in IT.

Do I miss getting out of my bed and having to travel xxx miles to get on site for 7:30-8:00 then crawling about under floors or in manky lofts? Well, yes, sometimes I do believe it or not.

I certainly miss the money, and I do miss the banter too.

Yer, luckily I work in (ahemmm employed in) the public sector so no targets, boss is a decent bloke, and office is 4 miles from home.

Money is poor by comparison to what I was earning as a contractor, but no stress, no travelling, no heavy lifting, and go home clean every night.

Ha, yes the criminal profile check is really important nowadays. Some of the things we did to apprentices in the past would get you jailed nowadays.

b] Yes, of course..... Delicious, but you must remember it's not the **** we sell to the tourists You can't beat a freshly killed haggis during shooting season.
