Hi folks,

Brand new to this forum but would appreciate some help.

I have an indecit oven and when grilling the other day the thermistat light and oven light flickered a few times then it all went off and looked dead.

I took the oven out and changed the fuse and this seemed to work but after a few minutes the same thing happened.

I checked the old fuse in another device and it worked fine.

I'm guessing this is something simple but not sure how to diagnose it.

Any suggestions?

I suspect it may be an issue with the power/oven temperature knob as even when unplugged it seems to make a clang noise when it's turned?

Seem relatively cheap.

Thanks by the way

I'll see if I can find any videos on it and give it a go.

Or it could be a safety stat thats activated,,, TBH it could be several things, but it needs proper testing rather than the swapping of random parts

I think I could stretch to changing the energy regulator having watched some instructional videos but I've no real expertise or diagnostic equipment.

Trying to save a few quid and do it myself but perhaps best admitting defeat.

is it an expensive part for your model of cooker?

if its cheap it may well be worth a shot,

but,

there may be another part that has went defective to cause the regulator to go faulty in the first place, sometimes you can find yourself chasing a fault and merely throwing money at something that isnt viable.

It's about £25 I think so not too bad.

I guess as it sounds the most likely thing I'll give it a go.

I think the call out charges are about half the price of a new oven so worth a go.

Fingers crossed I get to the cause first time but the fact the bit I thought was wrong is the bit first suggested gives me some hope.
