I have a sudden anxiety about the pv system in the house. Inverter and batteries are under the floor and relatively inaccessible. The risk of 'trouble' from house damage and insurance being void ect means I want to move them outside. Is there a cabinet on the market that is made to house and protect the components.

any good garden 'box' small/ shed should suffice. The inverters are usually IP rated for outdoors, it's the batteries that need protecting. Ideally any box should have alittle green house heater for winter as the batteries don't like the cold.

If you are fretting over e-scooter fires, the lithium chemistry is usually different for solar, they also have far superior management and charge controlling, so are far far less likely to combust . You could always fit a smoke dectector in the solum for peace of mind.

nice tidy job, then you jam a cable in the door... :D
Hehe, that was very temporary for the RS485 into the Victron for initial programming, I'd saturated it with Gigabit CAT5E inside, 5 of them but no RS485. All working good and the cable is no more.

Think I know where you lost your favourite screwdriver John it is bottom left in box
I actually leave that one in there for pushing the recessed buttons on the BMS.

I can see I need to be careful of the content of my photographs on here, so many detectives pouring over the minute detail :):):)

We are an observant bunch, it goes with the job 👀
Observant or nosey :):)

Youre all a good bunch round here IMHO, even the challenging ones.
Every day an education on here has been my experience in the relatively short time I've been a member.

Bit of both 😃

Our work involves inspection and fault finding, so being observant is a learned skill, as many faults are small simple things like a screw just piercing a cable sheath, or a cable that goes diagonally across a wall traceable only by the slightly raised plaster work from backfilling the channel.

Good job you told me that, I would never have realised it otherwise o_O;)

Thank you all for the info. Love the comments. Any of you would fit in seamlessly at the bowling club on a Thursday night. The rants and the jokes are why I go.
