Hi, does anyone know or where I can find what the IP rating of lights and switches should be for a room containing a vented battery system for emergency lighting.the building is for a theatre on a army camp the istallation is 40 years old, cheers .

Yes they are the old lights are explosion fittings but the switches are just standard types thanks anyway

All fittings including the light switches will have to comply to the relevant British Standard, this would far outweigh the definition of a simple IP rating.

Is the area zoned under DSEAR?
The picture I included is a Zone 1 compliant. I would think like you say, the OP will require to know if the area is indeed zoned.
