Ipaf Course

Hi I just completed my ipaf course today on 3a/3b. Cost me £210 that's vat included. Did the training through Elsbury training in Caerphilly. Bloody freezing though at 12 meters in the sky lol. Glad I got it though.

Question is how many of you lads and ladies got it and is it much call for it? Reason being is I'm hoping that this is going to put me ahead on the job front for the rest of the year.

ive had it for a while now,

has deffo got me some jobs, and some strange ones too,  :|

will be renewing yet again when its due, which, IIRC will be very soon, must check.

Think of it over 5 years less than £50 a year most agency jobs ask for it

Defiantly will give u an advantage over some one who hasn't

There coming more and more popular on sites now rather than scaffolds IMHO

Suppose it depends what work and who your working for on most sites they take copies of your card or at least ask u to show it

And some sites don't really give a damn

What frustrates me is I did an almost identical course for a previous employer, but in house, and all I got was an in house certificate allowing me to use the access gear owned by the company, on the companies premisses.

No use whatsoever in the real world.

I can recommend Highland Access in Trafford park Manchester for IPAF training thats where ive been doing mine for the past ten years. They also do the PASMA scaffolding course there too

Passed 3a and then the machine's hoses broke so not really had a chance to use it yet.  Cost me nothing as company paid and have full IPAF 5 year card.  So just using the pedal lift until it is fixed.

Not sure it wins us jobs, but I sent the boys on IPAF as I can see us getting more and more involved in work that requires it

Better to have it and not need it than the other way round!
