Hi

I changed the halogen bulbs in my cooker hood to leds and they come on for a second then start flikering? Is this because they is a transformer in the hood which is not allowing enough volts? And do I have to stay with halogen.

The cooker hood states: 2×50w max

The the leds are 2 3w 250lm bulbs

Any advice would be appreciated

Many thanks

Neil

Generally cooker hoods are just 230v lamps so no transformers required. Are the lights screw thread lamps? Sometimes the sprung contacts lose some of their springiness, so when a new lamp is fitted it is not making a good electrical contact which can cause some flickering.

Op what you describe is consistent with a traditional halogen transformer being used to power a led bulb - the halogen transformer will have a minimum load of 20 watts.

Unless you can change the transformer it won't work so I would suggest you put the halogen bulbs back in
