had a headache problem today thats driving me mad, i'll try and give as much info as possible
10 amp type 2 mcb lighting circuit feeding 18 600x600 led modular fittings over 2 rooms (9 in each) measured load when on 3.8 amps total
feed comes from the board to a key switch then up to emergency light clik rose then loops into PIR then down to feed a 3 gang switch, three switch lines come back up to switch 3 rows of 3 lights,
when you enter the room you switch the 3 switches on and if you leave the room for 15 mins the PIR switches the lights off ,on re-entering the PIR brings the lights back on. However 4 out of 5 times this works fine but every now and again the circuit trips. The second room has exactly the same set up and is looped of the first room and this works fine.
the problem occurs when at least 2 of the rows are switched on but not if only 1 row is on, it doesnt trip if lights are plugged in one at a time but does if more than one are plugged in.
took out the PIR and connected the feed straight through and the problem still exists operating the key switch (but not every time )
ran out of time today so going back tomorrow, going to disconnect everything off the circuit and IR test the circuit but any other suggestions would be gratefully accepted
