Nice area. A recent shooting at one end of the street and (again fatal) stabbing just round the corner. Meter cupboard doors hanging off are par for the course but I parked up next to this the other day and loved the added touch of the kids glove! Loads of pretty coloured things to play with in there:

I'm loving the fact that someone has built a frame and added a second door, after the first one broke off, and that second door has gone missing as well.

Is there a serial door thief in the area?

I hope you havent touched and put your dna on that glove with the gunpowder marks on it :pray

On the rough areas around here you sometimes see a clear polycarbonate cover fitted over the meter and the cutout inside the meter box, Theres some shops I maintain in Runcorn and they have had a steel frame and door fitted with a padlock over the meter box due to the constant vandalism there.

I actually lived in the area back in the early 90's and it was great. Proper corner shop run by an elderly ENGLISH couple ditto a bakers a few doors up - both now gone. The once butchers shop sadly even then converted to a house. And I noticed the other day the newsagent has also been converted. Now there's a Tesco Metro with a security guard FFS!

Working back round there and it's now full of shirtless chavs swearing at their toddlers/wives/girlfriends and youths walking pit bull type dogs! I feel very self conscious now going into Tescos to buy my copy of the Times and a couple of croissants!
