I've been asked to install electrics in an eco house - pretty interesting as its an air-tight house with heat exchanger on the ventilation system - so all cables in and out of the airtight area need to be sealed. Not seen that before.

Anyway - I digress! the requirement is for all cabling to be LS0H cabling - mostly I can get away with 4mm (16A radials due to insulation) and 1.5mm for LED lighting (6A) but need 10mm for the cooker circuit.

I only seem to be able to buy this stuff in 100m reels - which is a shame for the cooker circuit - as only need around 8m.

Does anyone know a supplier who sells by the metre?

I know Batt cables sell by the meter, I used them in the past for 10m of Guardian cable,,, TBH It wouldn't have cost much more to get a full reel,,, but then again I'd have 90m of cable that I was unlikely to use

Not sure if any good but Wickes sells 10m reels i think or b&q may sell by meter. Hth

Edit: sorry wickes sells 5m or 16.5m which aint much use sorry

Thanks for the quick response. I've got Batt cables to quote for reele - but didn't realise they did it by the metre. Didn't realise Wickes did this! 16.5m has got to be better than 100m!
