I agree with the other guys obnox, it is important to have a base understanding of electrical theory before you start wiring circuits in your or anyones home. That is why we gave to study for at least 3 years and take many exams, before we are classed as qualified or competent to work in electrical install.

There are lots of info on forums, books or online so read up on basic theory and wiring systems to learn before working on your home.

and do you know why manufactures don't use a common terminal designation scheme?
I thought it was a conspiracy theory by the certifying bodies so us 'DIY Bob's' f*** up the changeover of our naff white plastic switch for nice chrome ones and need to call you in so we can see to eat and so the wife/gf will speak to us once again.

No?

Sorry I dont understand what you mean?I ran 2 new cables, heres a rough drawing.

Hello Obnox.....

Some Questions?

Do I understand from your first post that the original "bog standard light" is still in place...

& you have also added some Low Voltage lights...

IF YES...

Is your picture showing the original lamp..

but NOT the new lamps..

Just the transformer?

Did you try putting the new transformer & associated lights connected to a trailing lead via a plug with a 3amp fuse...

Just to prove that your transformer & lamps are working!? :) ?:|

Haha okay big chaps, got it working, cheers for the support, yous are some characters!! lol Guiness Drink

When asked to do this i thought it was a simple operation, obviously not, cleaning up and carrying ladders about all day on industrial sites disny help, but i'm only a first year and i now understand how the learning process works, I'll stick to replacing sockets for the time being;)

Sorry, ****ty drawing, ive ran 1 cable from the switch to the transformer, and 1 cable(neutral) from the bedroom light to the transformer.I need to learn this stuff mate, no point in gettin a pro in.
Not meaning to sound Hard or Horrible as im not meaning it that way but i think that there IS a point in getting a pro in,!!!
