Hi Tom,

Thanks for coming ... nice to meet you at last. Hope we didn't delay you too long. You were up to your eyeballs (hope the job got sorted) but you came just the same! :Salute

Will give you a buzz when ready, as agreed. Your card will certainly be going in the file!

All the best, see you soon.

J

Msg for Admin: got your message. You can borrow him from time to time .... I'll waive the fee, seeing that I found him through this brilliant site!

No problem julie, I'll have my estimate sent off by weekend for you. once we get that fridge is on its own circuit it will be a little less worry.

Thanks to the forum for proving the find electrician feature works!

Tom

That is a great story and outcome - Thank You Julie & Sellers. :)

:x

I think it is great.

Let's face it guys - If someone complains, everyone knows.

If someone has a compliment, everyone should know too. :D

It's always nice to get a recommendation from a happy customer, and nice to see this site is starting to hit the mark with customers. Well done all :Applaud

You wicked little divils! Shaver sockets, indeed!

I can't tell you how glad I am that Tom bothered to contact me.

It's a nightmare trying to get people who can/will do a proper job.

THIS is what the Internet is really for - putting US in touch with YOU.

Oh, by the way, if someone finds the roof of my carport in their garden ... can I have it back, please .... and will you please get this damned wind switched off .. you could use a programable PA8 controller.

Do you think Tom's wired it up wrong? Maybe get him back? It's got to be more than a coincidence you have this work done and the roof blows off.

what apache says is very probable given Toms stance and insistence on doing other jobs to the very basic minimum required of him,

http://www.talk.electricianforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=12508

most competent people go that bit further to make sure its not only to the basics, but safe as well.

Steptoe - Julie is clearly very pleased with Tom's work. I think Apache's comment was intended as a joke.

****

WHAT? Why can`t I say ****? It isn`t swearing, or rude or anything :Chair fall ROTFWL

I`m not going to look in THIS weather!!!

.... and will you please get this damned wind switched off ..
Unfortunately, I`m not high enough up the rankings. Maybe Rev James`d have more luck with that.......

you could use a programable PA8 controller.
I think you were lucky to get Tom, TBH. Hell of a guy. concientious, goes "over and above" the necessary. Judicious choice. O)

I understand that watchdog, but as you removed my last post I just thought it proper to give Julie the opportunity to see what Toms peers think of his attitude to skimping on the standards that any reasonable person should expect from a proper competent electrician.

most Laypeople are pleased if a job looks nice and works, they do not always realise the possible effects in the case of a fault, nor would they be expected to.

Your first post was not helpful. Your second post was more useful.

Any body using a member they have found off this site can freely read every post they have ever made and draw their own conclusions from that information.

There is more to doing a good job and getting asked back than just complying with BS7671.

If you want further discussion with me about this - take it to PMs.

Well now, that's sparked off some discussion (pardon the pun).

I can only assume that the reference to 'legs' is an assumption that mine are teaming with hairs. It's a myth .... these jabs put a stop to all that .... so if you want to quit shaving, let me know and I'll send you some. The only thing I have on my legs is a lacey black thing that ties in a bow .. Rooney had one, but his pay cheque, sadly, doesn't come with it. Getting quite attached to it and it could rapidly become a fashion accessory. And, of course - if there were some good electricians around I could stick little advertising strips on it with phone numbers and things.

My, my, bit of Tom bashing going on, but his shoulders are broad enough and he's got the last laugh because ........ HE hasn't done any of the work for us. So your presumption that maybe he's re-wired the house so that the switch in the bedroom works the light in the lounge is a flight of fancy. I would have thought his reference to an 'estimate' would have said it all - do catch up, chaps.

Ooooh! I'm not the type who would ask you to go wandering round the garden, in a force what-ever gale, in the middle of the night, dawn will do.

Have a decent day and, seriously, I hope your homes are all OK.
