Hi all, I’m about to get my first mft calibrated, I’ve been looking at different companies and the prices vary from roughly 80 to 150 . Is this the right price range ? And any recommendations for a good price and quick turnaround would be appreciated thank you .

That's cheap. I normally pay around £85, we have a company that does calibration work in Plymouth. They have a proper test lab that reminds me of when I worked in a similar environment calibrating and maintaining test gear as part of my apprenticeship.
I use a local test instrument supplier that has a UKAS accredited calibration lab, usually around a 48 hour turnround which allows for a 24 hour aclimatisation prior to calibration to ensure accuracy of the calibration costs about £80 - £90 I think
Never sure about these wholesaler trade day calibrations as there are potentially too many variables which could affect the outcome / accuracy of the calibration
As well as getting an annual calibration throughout the year I periodically verify the meter with a calibration check box

That is really cheap so I’m probably looking about 80 quid I’ve done more searches today what’s hfm mean ?
I normally keep my eye open for wholesalers having calibration days - I think I last paid £70 inc VAT
I try to avoid sending my mft away as it’s never that quick to come back

Wholesaler trade day. Think I paid £45+vat.
Done by a professional company with fully traceable certificates.
Just means only 1 day without your tester.

We sent a batch of meters to a calibration day which included by mistake an insulation resistance/continuity tester which didn't work on continuity. Came back with a Certificate saying all was well but still didn't work.

I always use CEF.
I never use them for anything else as they are so expensive, but for some reason they are cheap to do MFT calibrations. £55 (Inc Vat) last year.

I like others use CEF. Quick, good and sensibly priced service.
ask your wholesaler.
Emails from them usually, or signs up when I visited.
Why does your tester need calibration, it doesn’t, it needs testing against a known value, do you imagine they strip down your MFT and alter the values not at, all they do test against a set of known values which you can do at home with a check box, I’ve an niceic one that I use
CPS membership requires you to produce a calibration yearly

I bought a secondhand mft and I will be using it on site and the calibration has run out , we have to have a calibration certificate when using any mft on commercial and residential site work, which is what I do for a living
No offence but you obviously don’t know the rules and regulations with using mft’s
how do you book it in mate , looked on their website and nothing about calibration. Did you ring up or take it in to their shop
