Hi,

just a practical question re the filling on of a 'standard' Dom EICR form..

Take a domestic installation where alongside the main CU at the orgin sit 2 other DBs (later additions just feeding a couple of circuits each, all internal to the house) All 3 are sitting next to each other with therefore 3 sets of tails running from a henley, (which thankfully comes from a DNO Isolation Switch making life easy!)  So ie, there are no actual 'Distribution Circuits' and all 3 DBs are at the orgin..

My Q is...what's good practice for this when it comes to filling out the EICR in that when it comes to 'Particulars at the Origin'  I've therefore got 3 different 'Main Switch/CBs' to fill in just for that section..would anyone out there doing regular EICRs just put the other two on an additional page?

and for the SoC and SoTR would you bother using two Continuation Sheets for the 2 small DBs or just shove everything onto the one page on the EICR?

Cheers

The model forms in BS7671 are precisely that, model, or example forms. They are not pre defined forms that cannot be deviated from. Providing all of the essential information covering all of your results relating to the work you have undertaken is there, for any person reading the form at a later date, then there is nothing stopping you rearranging any of the data into a more readable layout. If you prefer individual sheets per DB that is fine. Or if you can clearly get all of the DB's and their final circuits onto one page with suitable sections or comments then that is also fine. Whatever way you prefer it is essential that the total number of sheets is listed, (i.e. page 'x' of 'y')  so that the client can be sure they have all of the pages and not mislaid any. In my opinion this is an area that just comes down to the jurisdiction and preferences of the person undertaking the work.

Thanks all for thoughts and yep I'd definitely generally use separate sheets for DBs  for SoC&TRs, it's just this Main Switch business that I was wondering on..as all 3 DBs are at the origin..I know we can adapt forms etc based on the Regs but if you take say the NIC Dom EICR form on the first page you'd normally fill in the CUs main switch details, no worries... But with more than 1 DB would you then put the details of the MS for the other two DBs say in the first line of the other separate SoC sheets, just putting n/a in columns that didn't apply?

sorry if this all sounds a bit ****!..just want to get an idea what others do! :)

no idea,

never filled in an NIC DI form, they're a bit muppet imho, the DI forms anyway,

the rest of the organisation is just totally and utterly corrupt.!

The above answers are spot on in my opinion, the model forms are just that, the more info you include the better. whenever I have an assessment I get the same aghast look on the face of the assessor when I include continuation sheets! My view is that if you miss something, that's what someone will pick up on.

With all the info there there can be no mistaken issues.
