Client wants new tiltable LED downlights fitted in kitchen but circuit has no CPC.

It would be relatively easy to run new cable from CU solely to provide CPC to kitchen downlights - but is this acceptable or would this alteration require a CPC to be run to all accessories (current accessories/light fittings are all plastic)?

Or should I forego the tilt and just use class II Halers?

Or is there a tiltable class II LED downlight out there for similar money?

If the run to add the CPC, then that may be the right course of action ad also allow for a wider range of fittings.... as for the cert, just make it crystal clear what is covered by a cpc and what isn't covered by a cpc on said circuit.

if the rest of the accessories are class II I would think it acceptable to provide a cpc for the kitchen lights only - do label the board though. You could also separate the lights you want to alter to have their own cct?

Many downlights are class2   just choose one of those , your wholsaler will put you right .

The simple JCC  tilts with removable lamp   are class2 although they have a loop terminal for the earth ,    Little point running a new earth that isn't  needed.
