Hi,

Just out of interest, our heating and hot water system, runs from a potterton 10/16. we have a programmer which allowes central heating and hot water together, or hot water on its own, but there dosent seem to be any 2 or 3 port valeves on the system, how can this work all I can see is a pump?. Cheers Ray

I'd say that you have a gravity / pumped system...

The HW loop has no restrictions in it and only needs the burner in the boiler to fire, convection currents do the rest!

The CH loop through the radiators is more restrictive and needs a pump to move the water around, so you need the burner on (HW) and the pump on (CH)

HTH

Thanks Guys, I can see the logic behind your replys, sounds about right.

Ray:)
