I'm currently looking at a project where 'ground recessed lights' are being specified and on checking the Regs. section 714.512.3 "Ground-recessed luminaires"

recommends taking account of guidance provided in Table A.1 of BS EN 60598-2-13.

Without blowing nearly a ton on a standard I may never use again does anyone know what guidance Table A.1 of BS EN 60598-2-13 will provide?

The guidance is for the manufacture/assembly AFAIAA so you shouldn't need to know what is in it, just that the light fitting complies with it.

For what it's worth the only 'ground recessed lights" that I have ever seen that were any good were on an airport runway.

maybe my customers only buy shytte  ones....but they all leak/trip RCD/explode within a couple of years

Oh I don't know....may give it that industrial,chic look.

Domestic ground lights should be given a Council burial!

It is and isn't manufacturer only guidance.

The table refers to operating temperatures required static loading resistance, and maximum height of protrusion above ffl.

So, you need to be sure that the lights you fit are capable of withstanding the expected maximum static load they will be subjected to, that they don't operate at a temperature above that allowable for the application area, and that they don't generate a trip hazard, as the designer you have a statute law duty to ensure that your design is safe, and comlpiant with not only BS7671, but all other relevant legislation, and preferably guidance and codes of practice, such as BS7671, as these would be your defence if something went wrong.
