Tip here Electroglow, Write or mark up colour changes with lettering ie, L (or L1, L2, L3 for 3ph)   N   and E  on each core on both sides of joints. It helps out especially when jointing between old & new colours. I never rely just on colours.

 
Didn't he say he didn't do the install? I have done that in the past about 15 years ago tho wen I was a pup

 
Even an S type RCD, should have tripped with an N-E reversal, if the E was carrying current.
