How do you all put a price to a job?

Do you work out how long it will take plus a mark up on materials?

Or do you work it out at so much per socket/switch/light etc?

And roughly what does everyone charge? And where abouts would pricing for work fair in my area of South Wales compared to other areas? London, Midlands and the North?

I know theres a few fellow Taffs on here. What is a fair going rate in our promised land at the moment.

Sorry if this seems a little personal but id just like to know a rough ball park figure as I am concerned in case I am quoting at the cheaper end of the scale at late and am getting the work but perhaps robbing myself.

Forgot to say I know this type of thread has been done many times before but as the price of materials and labour changes regularly then its good to post a fresh thread to discuss pricing on a regular basis.
