Hello good fellows- I have just joined the group and would like to see if someone can provide any help please.

The electricity supplier company changed my old mechanical electricity meter with a new digital electricity meter (not the smart one). This has caused a problem with all of my off peak electrcity sockets i.e. none of these sockets power up during the off peak time (about 11:30pm to 07:00am)- However they used to work with the old meter.

However my off peak reading on the meter shows that off peak electricity has been consumed. This has caused a problem since I have storage heaters, Dimplex duoheat radiators and for these to function properly require both peak and off peak electricity supply.

Q1: Does the new digital meter do not require two electricity wirings one for peak and one for off peak as the old one used to have?

Q: if the answer to Q1 is YES then how one can configure the storage rediator wiring? Since these radiators need both peak and off peak electrcity wiring supply.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thankyou, tools

The meter may be able to do different rates at different times but if your old off peak board isn’t connected to it it ain’t going to do anything.
I suspect that the reading you are getting is from the on peak board such as fridge, freezer, and any other items used over night or during the old off peak hours.

As Murdoch has suggested you need to call your meter muppets back to do the job properly.

Sounds like the meter isn’t installed or configured properly. Recommend you flag this issue to the meter supplier
Thank you so much for the reply. I have contacted Bulb and they say there must be something wrong with my internal wiring although I have not changed anything inside the house.

Can you post a picture of the new meter?  It should have at least 5 big thick wires connected to it.
Thank you for the reply. It seems there are 5 thick cables connected and these go inside the house.

Thank you for the reply. In fact I have tested the radiators at off peak times and the off peak reading shows increase of the readings according to the time I set. So somehow the off peak supply must be coming to the house and I thought perhaps with the new digital meter one does not need two  wiring ystems: one for peak and one for off peak. I have contacted Bulb and they say there must be something wrong with the inside of the house wiring although I have not changed anything inside the house.

Sorry I forgot about the picture. Oh...It seems I have to upload from a URL which I am not sure but will check this and will upload the photos soon.
