purchase from forum sponsers?

This may seem a stupid question but when I make a purchase from a forum sponsor do they know that I have found them from here, or do i have to let them know.

Just want to make sure that forum gets the credit for pointing me towards them.

You'll have to let them know. They can tell if you go to their site from the links on here but mentioning it would be good
