I’m from Northern Ireland and conduit is white, very little black and t&e is grey. I’ve started using Wiska boxes with conduit However my wholesaler only keeps black wiska boxes which doesn’t really go well with white conduit unfortunately

standard T&E is grey, LSF is white
It is now but previously it was as Deke says

we could always tell ( up until introduction of LSF ) if the main contractor was from down south as all the cable was white.  Thought  It was some type of Witchcraft !

souh of Brum white

north of Brum it was the correct colour of grey

...and who remembers Red for Fire Alarms!...not to mention Black ( very rare ) or even Asathene

I remember when you could buy white or grey t&e to suit the application without the white one having to be that damned awful LSF stuff.

Thanks Evans electric and others. I was trying to insert a picture of the clip I’m referring to but am unable to. I find the 22-26 size cable nail clip fits perfectly over 20mm pvc conduit. So would it be considered an acceptable method for surface mounting pvc conduit or perhaps would have been before 18th edition fire regs came in?

as long as it is securely fixed and not likely to fall down again anytime soon, then I don't see a problem. Plumbers tend to use U shape clips and screws for poly pipe - might be a better alternative? Or something like these https://www.toolstation.com/d-line-safe-d-conduit-clip/p44916?
