This seems to be commonplace  round here ........a typical example :-

You know that occasion when you're approaching  traffic lights , they change to amber as you hit the white line , generally accelerate across  with safety , given the timing delay etc.

What I notice more & more is not just the vehicle behind me  crosses but  another three !!!!

This morning I'm waiting at crossroads at a red light in Mrs Deke's car  ,  looking around ,  daydreaming ..... all the girls at the college seem to have forgotten to put clothes on today....    .Ooops I have a green light ..  as its automatic I do the occasional prat thing of pressing a non-existant clutch pedal ....so I haven't moved yet.......  then into drive .....pull away ....and a  black car crosses from left to right at about 60mph  !!!!

Had I not been daydreaming and  in my van I think we would have met in the middle ............... the pratt must have had a red light facing him for ages & totally ignored it .

I almost got hit by a car, a few months back, pulling out of the drivers lane into the oncoming lane, the lights were at red for the drivers. I was just lucky that I could move My fat arris in time to not contact His bumpers as it would have likely been game over for Me. I do hate cars at times...

What used to get me darn sarf was one set of lights that were on a road with no speed limit.

So you could legally be approaching at 60.

When they went to Amber, you could be in a situation where it was impossible to stop in time, so you had no option but to boot it and get over as quick as possible.

I always thought in that situation the amber cycle should have been much longer but it seems there is one set of timing for all lights.

It's probably been "solved" now by slapping a 30 limit on that bit of road.

Perhaps you need some lessons?

;) :D

Hi All,

There is a set of traffic lights at the top of Hampstead near jack straws castle where this happens all the time. The light has blatantly turned red but yet 1 or 2 cars accelerate across as though it were still amber.

Is it bad that i wish I were a traffic police officer when i see this lol
