Hey all, just joined the site so apologies if I get some stuff wrong!

I have an ex army truck which is based on a Renault Dodge 50 but was modified for the MOD by Reynolds Boughton in the early 90s.

It failed it's not this year as the headlights weren't bright enough to give a focused beam.

Turns out the dipped headlights are only worked on a dip dim 5% setting but I cannot work out why.

I am hoping someone will know what causes this and how to fix it.

If you only have dim dip headlights working then it sounds like you have a faulty headlight switch or relay

Or even a fuse.   If looking for a dim/dip relay look for one with a big resistor associated with it. Probably a coil of wire or a green ceramic tube.

Check that all earth connections are sound and the dim dip relay(If fitted) is functioning correctly.
