Hi I live in a rented house, it has a walk-in shower with an electric shower, and the whole installation looks like it was professionally done, switch RCD, etc.
When using the shower the switch gets warm, not hot, just warm, but it is the whole of the switch including the housing. I can not remember if this is normal as it draws a lot of current.
Any info is welcome.
Thanks

If there's heat being generated in a switch it's due to resistance in the circuit there. If there's resistance it can be the contacts that are wearing / tarnished or the connections that are loose / poor condition. Either way it really needs sorting, probably a new switch would be the best solution.

warm is normal, especially at high loads like a shower. however it shouldn't get too hot. burning / fishy smell is bad. once contacts do start to wear out and overheat they will quickly overheat more and more very quickly
