thanks john, have not been back yet, but what you say is possible, don`t think pipe is kinked but possible that some blockage has occurred.

Some electric showers need the head on to get the pressure up to heat. Some you need to leave off to wash the muck out

Just out of curiousity remove the shower head and leave just the outlet hose.
