Smoke Vent Kits

Any one got any experience with these.

Been asked to install one to a large velux window

How do these connect to the existing fire system.

The kit come with a smoke detector and call point to operate the motor.

Not installed one for years. Cheers

I believe that it is NOT normally connected to a fire alarm. Being  as its a smoke vent kit the smoke detector will tell tell the panel when the place is full of smoke so the window must be opened.

However, the control panel is normally fitted some where close to the front door along with the manual call point, so if needs be, the call point can be operated and the window will open.

You are also required to test the smoke detector after you have installed it. (With Smoke spray )

If you really want to connect it to a fire alarm you could connect it to the panel AUX contacts, NEVER the bell output.
