They aren't a lot of use but you could always contact the MIB, although they do take a while to pay out.

That's it bulmer, they pay out for uninsured drivers. It might be worth a chat with them to see if they pay out for hit and runs.

A friend used them about 9 years ago when someone went into the front of them at a set of lights, then decided to drive off. Did take a long time to get anything, but it was better than nothing.

Nope, i had no injury and they dealt with me, it does take a while to get the money from them but saves claiming on your own insurance, i only got a small amount from them as i sold the car before they paid out. it wasn't that bad so i never even got it fixed.

After all, we all pay an excess in our policy that goes to the "Uninsured driver's fund" - Barstewards!

it hasnt stopped all day here, still only about 6 inches but who knows what it will be like by the morning!

Been out in the garden with the Hyper today. Was expecting a phone call to go back to work, really didn;t want to because it took me ages to get back last night.

this is what its like around burntwood, staffordshire this morning
I see Burntwood still get ****** all snow then, I never managed to get a day off work due to snow when I lived there.

We had a couple of inches in Tamworth but thats all. Brushed it off the end of the drive, chucked some grit down and 10 minutes later I was away

WHAT! Snow chains? IF you can drive properly in snow; which is the exact opposite (in some ways) from rain, you shouldn`t have too much problem. As `pache says, snow tyres can help ("town & country" were the boys - can you still get `em???)

I did South wales to Stockport, to Bradford, to Whitby, Back to Bradford & back to South Wales, without losing grip on ANY tires, at ANY time (and some of the lanes I had to use near Whitby were 1 in 3!!!)

Mind, I did slide around a corner yesterday in the van - the front wheels kept some traction, and the back end tried to overtake me............

Minor correction, and all`s well though.

Helps if you have a touch like a midwife............
:^O :^O

there have been some ab solute tuners round oxford these last 2 days :(

its all well and good me driving round at 15mph or so on urban roads and 30-40mph on dual carriageways but that doesn't stop the massive van thats 1ft from my back bumper hitting me :(

i saw an articulated lorry with a full(uncovered) load of metal frames about the size of goal posts doing 50mph+ on a snow covered section of 50mph dual carriageway near me yesterday!

the best one though was the guy that had cleared about 1ft square off of his windscreen and nothing else from the car attempting to drive along the road leaning over the wheel to see whilst on the phone. unbelievable.

Another day off doing bookwork, luckily have no urgent work. Glad I worked between xmas and new year now helps money out.

Bengie - slower isn't always safer. Around here you need a certian degree of momentum to get up the hills. Still getting too close is unforgivable! They need tailgating cameras on the motorway, IMO it's more dangerous than speeding.

Doc - have you used those synthetic snow chains? They look quite good!

i know what you mean but i am talking flat urban roads, no hills or anything :)
