Nonsense.
Going to somewhere close, doing less than an hours work, and charging them £80 for it is a rip off. On the occasions when I have to travel a distance to a job I tell the customer what my travel expenses and time charge will be just to get me there before I start work. I don't go miles for nothing.
If he is in Lanark, that's a populated area, so he should be able to find an electrician within 10 miles and I would expect the cost per hour to be a bit more than mine but not a lot more.
Allegedly you have other incomes.... other people have families and homes to provide for. Don't let your charitable fees distort the market.
